A new job, new academic year, and new term is about to begin. I’m back to the quarter system. I have only been in Eugene a short time and only been out and about on the University of Oregon’s campus a little bit. The transition is simultaneously pretty simple, easy, and yet still strange. I am slowly learning the lay of the land and feeling out the rhythms and flows of a new place. I am excited. It is definitely a little sad to be closing the door on the last chapter of my life, the last two years at Drew. But now it is about the coming year. The quarter starts on Monday, September 28, and things get going for me right away since I teach both of my courses on Mondays and Wednesdays.
