I just returned a dissertation draft to a student with my comments. Just for fun, since this is the first project that I have written substantive comments on, I did a word cloud for all of my feedback.
It is really interesting to see what verbs and terms I use. The content of the dissertation aside, my comments tend to replicate much of the comments I used to get as a graduate student (go figure).
The foregrounding of the word “think” is because I tend to start responses with “I think.” Clearly, I also lean on “theorize more.” Very interesting. Now I need to figure out how to vary my language.
