Today, I am going to do a virtual class visit for Dr. Michelle Gaffey’s EN193: Worldbuilding: Science Fiction & Fantasy class at Marymount University. The whole class is organized around reading Octavia E. Butler’s work. I am going to talk about my teaching and writing on Butler, my work with the The Octavia E. Butler Literary Society, and then we’re going to discuss the novel Wild Seed.
